HOW TO MEASURE EYEGLASS FRAMES

Finding the appropriate frame size is just as crucial as choosing the best style & color for your eyeglass frames. It would be best if you first decided which size frames your suit to ensure that your frame fits you completely. Your current pair of eyeglasses can work for you to measure the frame size as per requirements. These measurements are listed in the following order from the left side to the right side:

Lens width: Each lens has a horizontal width measured at its widest point. Typically, it falls between 40 mm and 60 mm. Measuring the inside of the frame when determining the lens width is advised.

Bridge width: The gap between your two lenses is called the bridge width. Simply put, it is the area where your nose and frame meet. The measurement is millimeters and usually falls between 14 mm and 24 mm. You begin and end your measurements on the innermost side of the lenses.

Temple length: Temple length, often referred to as arm length, is the distance between each temple screw and its tip. Including the bend that rests on your ear. Begin with the hinges to determine the temple length, and continue in a straight line without deviating to the farthest point. Your temple length ranges from 120mm to 150mm.

Frame width refers to the horizontal width measured from its outer side.
Frame height: It is the vertical height of the frame measured from the outside from the tip to the bottom.

Quick tips for choosing the best eyewear frame size:

?    Measure your current frame size carefully and determine the perfect frame width that you require. The perfect frame size is crucial to suit and complement your face beautifully. A too broad frame will conceal the majority of your face and will be difficult to carry since it will be misaligned and continually sleeping, whereas a frame that is too small will show your face most broadly.
? The temple length should be horizontally and equally cover the exterior of your ear. The most common options for temple length are 135mm, 140mm, 145mm, and 150mm.
?    The center of your lenses must be over your eyes. The proper size should be determined, as the wrong lens size will make your eyes appear either too close or too wide.
?    The ideal bridge width will provide you with the most comfort possible while wearing your frame. The shape and location of your nose determine the size requirements for your frame, as wide-located eyes will require a higher bridge width and vice versa.
?    Measure your face to ideally determine your frame size. You can use a pencil to identify and get an idea of the same.
